The following is pasted from the Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert newsletter, Feb 2022:
- Understand you've few rights if something happens so you can't go. Many contact me irate as Covid or their child's broken arm means they can't travel and the airline or travel firm won't give them a refund.
Yet much like breaking your arm doesn't give you a right to return a tennis racket as faulty, you're not legally due a travel refund because something is stopping you going. That's what travel insurance is there to protect you from, so get it ASAB (as soon as you book) so the cover's in place whatever happens.
Optional extras:
You can arrange these extras if they help you plan and enjoy your stay.'Pack and go' departure cleaning service - as with all holiday cottages, it is a requirement that you leave the cottage tidy, 'as you found it'. Our departure clean option at £25 is designed for those who prefer to avoid holiday housework. Please advise us during your stay, or by email in advance if you wish to take advantage of this.
Dogs: Your dog is welcome for no additional fee. More than two dogs - please contact us.
Unattended pet charges - most holiday cottage owners do not allow unattended pets at any time, we do but we charge £10 for the length of time it takes to go to Alton Towers. Included in this charge is the option to have your pet taken for a little walkies if you are gone for long. Please check our Pets page for more details of this service.
Heating & Fuel: We make no additional charge for central heating but we do ask that the gas boiler is turned off when you are out or while it is warm during the day. Logs and solid fuel for the fire are not included but are available locally or it may be possible to purchase baskets of logs from us, subject to availability.
