Rural yet easy to access. Traditional yet modern. Peaceful, cosy and great to get away from it all...

The cottage has a double room, a family room, well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, modern bathroom with large shower cubicle, and a comfortable sitting and dining room with french windows opening onto a large south-facing terrace with open views over fields and woods. The cottage is in a tiny hamlet, well off the road, a little way down a gravel track, making it a peaceful countryside getaway - but only a mile off the A road between Ashbourne and Stoke.

Barks Cottage is ideal self catering holiday accommodation for a family building a holiday around a visit to Alton Towers or the Peak District. Kids really like the fact that it is all on one floor.

We can accommodate an extra visiting couple if you book the upstairs private double room with en-suite bathroom -  Annex - which is perfect if family or friends want to join you for a day or two. We only let the Annex to people in your own party.
